Bio: Oliver Sherwood first took out his trainers license in the mid 80s, but prior to that has an apprenticeship of sorts as assistant trainer to Gavin Pritchard, Arthur Moore and last but certainly not least six years with  Fred Winter at Uplands yard.

Clearly not a work shy individual, Sherwood took on a parallel career as a jockey, and in fact become champion jockey in 79/80, riding almost 100 winners over his riding career.

As a trainer Sherwood went from strength to strength, and to date he’s had six winners at the Cheltenham Festival, has won the Tingle Creek Chase at Sandown and the Hennessy Gold Cup twice. His biggest win by far though was with Many Clouds with ten wins – including the aforementioned Hennessy Gold Cup and the big one, The Aintree Grand National in 2015.

Sherwood remains as competitive as ever, and no doubt has more big wins in the pipeline.
