Bio: Charlie Mann is a national hunt horse trainer based at Neardown Stables, Upper Lambourn,
West Berkshire.  Mann’s career in racing began as a rider, where he amassed 149 winners over a 15 year timeframe. Serious injury though ended his career and after trying his hand at various other things, he came to realise that horse racing was his primary area of knowledge and so returned to the sport.

A period of assistant trainer under Cath Walwyn followed and in 1993 it was time for him to go it alone. Having experienced some early success in 1998, Mann bought Whitcoombe Stable. The move immediately made sense, with a grade one winner, Celibate, in the BMW Chase at Punchestown come soon after.

2008/2009 proved to be a good year resulting in £641,000 in prize money through 63 wins such. Moving to Neardown Stables (essentially just down the road!) in 2012, Charlie Mann continues to have success to this day with over 800 wins and counting!
