Brian Ellison

 

Bio: Brian Ellison was born in Newcastle Upon Tyne in 1952 and is a successful UK horse trainer. Ellison trains at Spring Cottage Stables in Malton, North Yorkshire , a training environment that’s been up and running for some 17 years now.

In his youth Ellison aspired, like many boys, to be a footballer, but his diminutive height made being a jockey a more realistic proposition. Wasting no time, at 17 he took out a jockey’s license and there commenced a 20 year career of quite some aclaim. Keen to keep the momentum going he took out a trainers’ license that same year.

Brian has made his mark over the years and big wins followed, including grade oen wins such as the Coral Future Champions Finale Juvenile Hurdle at Chepstow in 2011, and the Betfred Ebor on the flat at York that same year. He’s known for his dual surface abilities. Ellison also has an enviable record in international races and at Irish Festivals.
