Willie Mullins
Bio: Willie Mullins is an Irish race horse trainer and former amateur champion jockey, winning the Cheltenham Bumper amongst other races in that capacity. He’s based at based at Closutton, Muine Bheag, County Carlow, Ireland.
Upon the conclusion of his successful career as a jockey, Willie Mullins was taken under the wing of his father Paddy Mullins and Jim Bolger. Their stewardness and his natural ability clearly paid off and the accolades and records keep pouring in. The most monumental of which was his Grand National win in 2005 with Hedgehunter, followed by two Champion Hurdle wins with Hurricane Fly.
Back to the records, Mullins is the first trainer to do a 1-2-3 in the Champions Hurdle, and was also the first to train 8 winners during a Cheltenham Festival (2015). The record keep coming with this man. Don’t expect them to stop any time soon!
