Horse trainers are the linchpin of the racing world. To hone the talent for being aware of a horses every physical and mental need in order to bring it to its full racing potential is no easy task.

Part science (perfecting exercise programs, diet and more), part art (those undefinables that come with developing a full knowledge of an area), the top horse trainers really do know how to get the very best out of their horses.

Along with the right breeding and the best jockey on board, having a world class trainer onside is a must for any owner wishing to succeed in the sport of racing. Their ability to manage horses and build up their familiarity with people and confidence to race is a skill that’s as rare as it is valuable.

The likes of John Gosden, Mark Johnston and Paul Nicholls are and have been at the top of their game for an age now, in fact Johnston is the most successful flat trainer this very season (with Dan Skelton taking that honour over the jumps).

Here at horsetrainers.org.uk we aim to celebrate the most accomplished horse trainers in the UK. Trainers currently at the top of their game over both the jumps and flat (some trainers specialise in one or the others, whereas others have a more broad approach), as well for those that have been on the scene for decades.

The site features a horse trainer A – Z, as well as regular trainer related news updates and a focus on the top flat and national hunter trainers that season (based on wins, places and other performance information over the year).

Click through on the individual horse trainer pages for a bio of all of your favourites UK trainers as well as their websites, news and blog info, social pages (Facebook and Twitter where available) and contact details. Links are checked weekly, and if you have any updates or recommendations feel free to get in touch via our contact page!
