Bio: Michael Bell is a horse trainer, specialising in horses running over the flat. The talented Jamie Spencer is his main jockey. Bell is based at Newmarket, Suffolk and began training in 1989 and has seen had more than 1000 winners, a not that not many others can state as a claim to fame.

Of course, with such a healthy number of winners, some of those have come at prestigeous events. The most stand out of such for Michael Bell has to be his Epsom Derby win with Motivator in 2005. Another high achiever is Sariska, winner of The Oaks and Irish Oaks. He’s amassed prize money totalling over £24 million so far in his career.

A recent success story for Bell has been Big Orange, the 5-1 winner of the Gold Cup at the 2017 Royal Ascot. Bell had been hoping for a repeat victory in the 2018 race, but injury struck, so the endevour wasn’t to be.
