Bio: Charlie Appleby trains horses at the Moulton Paddocks stable in Newmarket, Suffolk, and has been part fo the Godolphin stable since 1992 – the Maktoum family’s private Thoroughbred horseracing stable. He started as head lad for Saeed bin Suroor, then moved to assistant trainer to Mahmood Al Zarooni

Appleby has experienced both national and international success, with recent wins with Masar in the Derby (2018) and Blue Point in the King’s Stand Stakes (2018) locally. Internationally, He won the Australian Sydney Cup with Polarisation in 2017 and US success with Wuheida in the Breeders’ Cup Filly & Mare Turf the same year.

2015 is Appleby’s best year to date, with 150 wins and over £2 million in prize money. He also gained his first Royal Ascot win the same year with Space Age in Age, in the King V Stakes.
